Czech Union for Nature Conservation
(Cesky svaz ochrancu prirody, abbreviated CSOP) is the biggest civil association, that links together people with kind relationship to the nature in the Czech republic. We have about 9 500 members associated in about 350 local chapters.
20/08 ZO ČSOP Hořec
is a local chapter of CSOP, that has its seat and works in southern bohemian town Blatná. Bigger part of our activities takes place in groups of young environmetists called Dráčata and Vlčata. Our local chapter has 46 members - 36 young environmetalists a 10 adults (state to 31.12. 2004).

- we are interested in hiking, camping and learning about nature; we learn how to behave in nature and start with nature conservation.
- we hold regulary weekly meetings during the school year (3 days at the week) - part of meetings takes place in our club-room and the other part outdoors
- weekend outings and trips and occasional brigade-works complements regular meetings during the school year - it takes place about 16 weekend actions during a year - 8 of them lasts one day and 8 of them lasts more than one day
- during the holiday we spend 2 weeks in a summer camp
Taking Care of Nature
- Action Gentiana - With agreement of the owner we take care about meadow with presence of rare plants Gentiana pneumonanthe and Dactylorhiza majalis and butterfly Maculinea alcon.
- Clean Up the World! - we take part in this whole world campaign for many years
